Admissionly ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian laws. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data when you use our school admission tracking service.

By using Admissionly, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data as described in this policy. This consent is free, specific, informed, and unconditional.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and optionally phone number when you create an account
  • Location Preference: City (to show relevant schools)
  • School Preferences: Schools you're tracking, grade applying for, application status, and notes
  • Expense Data: Admission-related expenses you choose to track
  • Class Preferences: Classes you're interested in, reviews, and trial bookings

3. Document Vault

Our Document Vault feature allows you to securely store admission-related documents. Important points:

  • Documents you upload may contain personal information about your children (such as birth certificates, Aadhaar cards, etc.)
  • We provide secure storage only - we do not access, read, parse, or process the contents of your uploaded documents
  • Documents are encrypted and stored securely, accessible only to you
  • By uploading documents, you confirm you have legal authority to store such documents and any personal data contained therein
  • You can delete your documents at any time

4. Purpose of Processing

We process your personal data for the following specific purposes:

  • To provide our admission tracking and timeline management service
  • To send deadline reminders and admission alerts via email (and WhatsApp, if opted in)
  • To facilitate class trial bookings and reviews
  • To respond to your support requests and grievances
  • To send important service updates and notifications
  • To improve our service based on usage patterns (anonymized)

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data only:

  • Service Providers: With trusted providers who help us operate (cloud hosting via Supabase/Vercel, email delivery via Resend)
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority
  • With Consent: With your explicit consent for any other purpose

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable security safeguards to protect your personal data:

  • All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
  • Documents are stored in secure cloud storage with strict access controls
  • We use secure authentication (OAuth, magic links) and do not store passwords
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • We conduct regular security reviews and updates

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Account data is retained while your account is active
  • You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time
  • Upon deletion request, data is removed within 30 days (including from backups)
  • We may retain anonymized, aggregated data for analytics purposes

Under the DPDP Act, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access: Request information about what personal data we hold about you
  • Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data

Admissionly is a service designed for parents and legal guardians to track school admissions for their children.

  • We do not directly collect personal data from children
  • Parents may upload documents to our Document Vault that contain their children's personal information
  • By uploading such documents, parents confirm they have legal authority as guardian to store this information
  • We do not access, read, or process the contents of uploaded documents
  • Children's documents are stored with the same security measures as all other data

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For significant changes:

  • We will notify you via email before changes take effect
  • We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy
  • Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
